Inside Passage
Seattle
At a glance
Inside Passage is an intimate tropical cocktail bar in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, entered through a passage inside Rumba at 1108 Pike Street. The setting takes an undersea-inspired approach, with dramatic lighting, custom-built sculptures and a theatrical design that turns the bar into a distinct escape from the surrounding street.
The drinks draw from tropical cocktail traditions while adding Pacific Northwest character. Menus include tropical classics alongside original creations built with premium spirits, rare rums, island spices, deep-ocean flavors and unexpected ingredients. The presentation is part of the experience, with custom mugs, playful garnishes and visual effects that can include glowing glassware or dry ice. Each cocktail is designed as a layered, imaginative serve rather than a straightforward pour.
Inside Passage also offers spirit-free libations, along with spirits, beer and wine. A food menu rounds out the drinks, making the bar suitable for an evening focused on cocktails as well as a more casual stop with something to eat. The overall style is playful and transportive, with maritime storytelling, colorful tropical influences and a sense of spectacle throughout the room.
The compact setting works particularly well for date nights, small gatherings and friends looking for a drink-led experience with a strong visual element. The bar limits parties to six guests, helping preserve its intimate atmosphere. Reservations are recommended, especially for groups planning a specific evening.
Inside Passage adds a 20 percent service charge to checks, retained by the house, with a commission on food and beverage sales paid to dining room staff as part of compensation. Additional tipping is neither required nor expected, although any extra tip goes entirely to the service staff for that evening.
